Somerville Museum, Executive Director | August 2023 – present
Responsible for overseeing and managing multiple aspects of the museum’s operations, including:
Strategic Planning: Development and implementation of the museum’s long-term vision and strategic goal.
Staff Management: Hiring, training, and managing museum staff, including curators, educators, and personnel.
Community Engagement & Collaboration: Fostering community engagement through strategic partnerships with diverse institutions and the development of educational programs for cultural enrichment.
Innovation: Staying current with museum industry trends and adopting innovative approaches to engage audiences and meet the museum’s mission.
Responsible for the museum’s financial management and fundraising initiatives:
Driving grant acquisition efforts and authoring persuasive proposals for both operational and capital needs. Expertly manages contracts and budgets to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
Secured $560,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for programming and a critical HVAC project, enhancing the museum’s vitality and infrastructure.
Acquired an additional $20,000 in ARPA funds, fortifying the museum’s operational sustainability during challenging times.
Garnered multiple smaller programming grants throughout the year, diversifying revenue sources and supporting various cultural initiatives.
Leading and directing a volunteer fundraising committee, instrumental in raising nearly $2.75 million in funding for museum revitalization building renovation and ADA compliance.
Demonstrates a keen eye for design by selecting interior finishes and serving as an adept Interior Designer, ensuring the museum’s aesthetic charm aligned with its mission.
