Have you redesigned your home during the COVID-19 pandemic? I’ve come up with so many home projects I didn’t know where to start! So, I started with the room that bothers me most: the bathroom. We have two bathrooms, so this one acts primarily as our powder room (even though it has a bath/shower). At some point we’ll renovate it completely but I needed to give it facelift in the meantime. As you can see from the before images, it had bland, large format beige/peach floor tiles, a brown vanity with a matching (very large) medicine cabinet above and missing window trim. These are the things that bothered me most.

Then, I purchased custom sized vinyl floor stickers from Quadrostyle and set about changing the entire feel of the bathroom. These weren’t difficult to install, but somewhat tedious to cut around the vanity, toilet and tub. Then I applied three coats of polyurethane to seal the product and give a nice sheen.

I searched high and low for a mirror to replace the very large, obtrusive medicine cabinet. At the end of the day, I realized that the perfect piece was a mirror I inherited years ago from my great Uncle. It now has a new life in a space where I can…

This space feels like a different room with these few changes. Someday I’ll renovate this bathroom and create a new, unique space. But, for the time being, this black and white refresh will do!
